As designers, we are constantly moving within the formats we are given to produce our designs. Rarely can we define each one ourselves, so we need to develop strategies to make the format an active part of the design process. We will develop systems that respond flexibly to given and hypothetical formats and that actively engage with space in a compositional way.

Florian Lamm (Germany)

Lamm & Kirch is a graphic design studio focusing on the creation of visual identities, books and exhibitions in the broad field of the cultural sector. With our strong background in the production of printed matter, we focus on the intersection of digital and analogue publishing in a broader sense. Our approach is defined by continuous cooperations in shifting constellations. We like the old and the new, the obvious and the hidden. The studio functions as a research facility to explore various ways of visual language. Our idea of working is defined by working with instead of for somebody.
